The first pieces in my Beksinski inspired series that I started a few years ago. While most folks know me for sci-fi hard surface stuff, I have a huge love for abstraction and surrealism as well. So Beksinki is an incredible inspiration; and his work is pretty near and dear to me.
The purpose of the series was to explore dream logic, abstraction of some mental health concepts, war, and a few other themes. It was also a way to push my 3d concept art further. Since I'm not a traditional 2d concept artist, I enjoy pushing 3d to really see what I can accomplish through new tools and approaches. So wrapping my head around doing these and establishing that pipeline was a ton of fun. These were done in 3ds Max, zbrush and Keyshot at the time. Now I use Octane primarily. Each piece took about 1-3 evenings.
